Welcome to LT Drafting Services

Below you will find some typical questions and answers we find most people ask.
Q: How much does CAD drafting for a typical set of plans cost?
A: Although exact costs are hard to quote without seeing the actual project, we can tell you that our fees are one of the lowest in the area.  Typically jobs are priced out based on a square footage price, taking into account the total square footage of the project.  We can tell you that a single story residential copy job can run as low as .25 cents per square foot, and simple residential additions can start as low as $350.00 for plans.  They can go up from there based on the complexity of the project, but we will always give you a firm quote once we've reviewed the project.  Once quoted, all prices for your plans are firm and there are never any hidden costs or fees.

Q: How long does the process take?
A: A lot of the time involved in  drafting a set of plans is actually based on how long you take in reviewing plans, getting us information,  and/or the changes you make.  Our current turn-around time is one week from receipt of information from you, and a typical project will take 2 sets of revisions to get to finalized plans.  Once the plans are finalized you well then submit the plans to a local roof truss company to obtain layouts.  Once the layouts are received the plans are then ready to submit to an engineer or architect for review and sign/seal.

Q: Are the final plans LT Drafting provides everything I will need for submittal to the building department?
A: No, besides all of the typical paperwork the building department will require you to submit, there are various other items required to be submitted with your final plans as well.  Florida building code requires all plans to be stamped and sealed by either a licensed Florida engineer or architect.  If needed, we can provide you with references for these professionals to complete your project.  Keep in mind that we work closely with the architect or engineer that you choose to ensure all plans conform to their requirements and there are no additional fees for this process. You will also need other items such as roof truss layouts, site surveys, site plans and energy calculations.  Again, we can provide you with references for these suppliers if needed.

Q: How much does a typical color rendering cost?
A: Color rendering prices can vary depending on the complexity of the home and the details required, but prices for small residential projects can start as low as $150.00 for a basic rendering.  We do offer volume discounts and we will be happy to quote you a firm price based on the scope of your project.
